IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO QUIT SMOKING

Smoking is as addictive. Many people think that that is too difficult to stop smoking. They prefer to continue smoking than know about how dangerous smoking is. It's never too late to quit smoking. Here are some reasons why it's not too late to quit smoking and some things to consider if you're ambivalent about whether or not you can quit.

By quitting smoking, it can improve your health. You will be far from the risk of lung cancer blood pressure, heart disease because your body recovers to repair the work of your organ by stopping smoking. If you continue to smoke you will be looked at 10 or 20 years older than you actually are. And also because of that, your organ can’t process well. More than that, women who smoke are at increased risk for breast cancer. Men and women who smoke are at increased risk for lung cancer. The more you smoke and the longer you smoke, the more difficult it will be to treat these cancers, and when they are treated, your recover process will be slower and less successful than the recovery of those who don't smoke at all, or those who managed to quit smoking.

Maybe you will be aware when you experience bad experience of smoking. For other people, it may be the realization that they are spending huge amounts of money that they can't afford to spend - especially when we're still experiencing the effects of an economic recession. Sometimes, the loss of a loved one who was a smoker will be the catalyst that springs a person into action

That is no problem if you have been smoking for 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 years. That is not too late to stop smoking. You have to be committed to doing so, and you need to set up some sort of support system to help you get through those difficult times

KOBE-BRYANT BIOGRAPHY

Kobe Bryant was born on August 23rd 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His mother is Pamela and his father is Joe Bryant who is a former NBA player. Kobe learned to play basketball in Italy when he was a boy. He concentrated to improve his skill in playing basketball. He dreamt of going straight to the NBA from high school and continued to improve his skills from 11 to age 13 when he knew he could play anyone. His father thought that Kobe had talent in basketball and supported him very much.

In 1996 he was transferred from Charlotte Hornets to LA Lakers and was a significant contributor as the Lakers won 56 games in 1996-1997. He was a youngest basketball player in NBA at that time. In 1998-1999 he started all 50 games for the LA Lakers (which no-one else did) and averaged 19.9ppg which put him second on the team

The 2000 - 2001 season heralded more successes as the Lakers finished with a 56-26 record and Kobe reached a new career high with an average of 28.5 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists per game. This was his second title with LA Lakers after joining in this team. Next season 2001-2002, he also got the champion of NBA with his group, and his partner, O’Neil. Because he played very well, he was awarded MVP player at that time

But in 2002-2003 season, the success was not repeated, he couldn’t bring his team pass the playoff, because his team was defeated by San Antonio Spurs. This season can be called the worst season to Bryant, after failing to bring his team to be the champion, in the summer of 2003 Bryant was accused of raping a woman who is Katelyn Faber.

Getting problems outside and inside the curt, Bryant came back on the court, in the 2003 - 2004 season Bryant opted out of his contract becoming a free agent. This meant that he could leave for another team if he desired. In this season a conflict happened between Bryant and O’Neil. And O’Neil decided to go out form the team.

His first season as "leader" in 2004 - 2005 was a difficult one. After being leaved by O’Neil, Bryant also couldn’t bring the team go to final. Until Phil Jackson who was his favorite coach decided to return to train LA Lakers after Rudy Tomjanovich left in 2005-2006. There was his new spirit to come back in his best performance to bring LA Lakers became the Champion like in 1999 – 2001 season.

 Kobe is currently ranked #2 in the world and continues to push his game to perfection. Regardless of the public scrutiny he has received his career highlights show just how good he is on the court.

NARRATIVE TEXT FOR THE STUDENTS AT GRADE 9

JOSEPH BONAPARTE AND JERSEY DEVIL

Joseph Bonaparte was a Napoleon Bonaparte’s brother. He was also a King of the Spain. During the Peninsular War, Joseph was unsuccessful in defending Spain against England, so he had to abdicate his throne in 1813. Because of that he went to America to exile himself and bought eight hundred acres land at Bordentown, New Jersey. At Bordentown Joseph also could get latest news about France and Spain.

There, he built a mansion which beautiful landscaped grounds and plenty of parkland. Joseph led glamorous parties and he entertained many great men of his day. The Americans were very impressed with him.

In the snowy day, Joseph was hunting alone in the woods near his house. In the woods he looked strange tracks, those looked like the tracks of a two-footed donkey. Bonaparte noticed that one foot was slightly larger than the other. Then those tracks were ended by creature tracks which had flown away. He was embittered with those tracks and wanted to find out what creature made those.

At the moment he heard a strange noise. Suddenly, when he turned around he saw a large winged creature which like a horse and had wings. Joseph froze and saw that creature. And then that creature hissed to him and flew away.

Later day, Joseph reported what he had seen to his friend. His friend told that that creature was Jersey Devil. That creature had haunted the Pine Barrens ever since he was born to Mother Leeds. Bonaparte was impressed about this story. Once things settled down in Europe, Joseph Bonaparte returned to Europe and reunited with his wife in Italy. He never saw the Jersey Devil again.
